Animal Success Stories
Many animals have come through our doors in the years we have been priviledged enough to do this work and for that we are very blessed. Many of our adopters have asked to include their own personal stories of the animals that they have adopted from our organization and we were happy to give them that chance.
Meet the animals who have found new homes and families who will love them just because.

Roxie
Hey there….was just thinking about the blessing that you guys bestowed upon us by allowing me and my boys to adopt this wonderful dog. I know it’s been a while since you’ve had an update but I wanted to let you know that Roxie is as beautiful and perfect as ever!!! Around this time last year, I had a moment of weakness and ended up bringing home a puppy (we had a litter of TEN by a stray at work, and thankfully we found them all homes! Yay!!) Mia found her way into Roxie’s heart, which really wasn’t too very hard because Roxanne was such a laid back, loving dog anyway….but Mia has been just the trick to keep Rox young…..I am attaching a couple of pictures, one is of Mia and Roxie in the car-notice how Mia has her paw on Roxie, she always stays close by and the other is Rox performing her trick-sitting up and begging for food, eating is definitely her favorite hobby!! I will send more soon, you must put her on the Happy Endings Page because she has definitely made our lives much brighter!! I look at her every day and marvel at how beautiful she is. I wouldn’t trade her for the world!
Hannah (Katrina puppy)
Hannah Bannana. Such a beautiful girl! She too, came from New Orleans. Wow, what a difference since she was just a puppy. This girl is beautiful, smart, onery, playful, energized (she never stands still!) and for the most part very smart! She had such a rough start and is still pretty shy but what a crazy girl. There is not a thing on this earth this girl won't eat!!! She even ate part of a tire one day! Yikes. Her teeth are made of steel. She is full of love! I had intended to find her a new good home but for some reason she makes up one sixth of our Ham Dappy Dogs. You can tell in the updated photo just how much she has grown. Everyone who sees her absolutely falls in love with her. She is very well mannered (for the most part) and listens pretty good. Somehow she has wormed her way into my heart and the hearts of my son and daughter in law and their kids. She really is beautiful! Thank you for bringing her and her sisters to Virginia from New Orleans. Thank God you were there to take these babies so that they had a chance to live! Your shelter does so much good work and much of it goes unnoticed. These three dogs are living, breathing testiments to your devotion and dedication to the animals who have no voice. They never had a chance without you and Lost Fantasy Stables!!!!!! Thank you for doing what you do day in and day out. Especially when the money isn't there, the recognition isn't there and the Thank You's are few and far in between. You have won a forever place in my heart and I am so blessed to have you in my life! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! Thank you especially in memory of Missy, 8 State Kate, Shelly (?) and in honor of Gummy Bear, Little Man, Hannah, Emily, Tootsie Roll, Bruce, and ALL the other lives you have saved!
Penny
My name is Penny and I was pulled from our high kill pound when my time ran out.
My new adopters saw my photo on Petfinder and contacted the rescue offering to give me my forever home! Now I am home with them in CT with my brother Graham a lab mix :o)
Emily (Katrina puppy)
This is Emily Marie, Emmy M, little Bear Cub. She came from New Orleans along with her other 5 sisters. Emmy is one beautiful girl who is full of love, devotion, curiosity, energy and fun. I got her from Lost Fantasy for my son for his birthday and Christmas present. She is my baby too and I love to go to their home to see my little girl. She remembers Grandma very well. She slept under my bed for a few months. Grandma taught her to sit, shake a paw, and stay. She looked just like a little Brown Bear Cub and was so sweet and loving I just could not resist her. She loves to chase squirrels, rabbits, even deer. I am glad she lives out in the country! She can run and run and run to her hearts content. She loves her new brothers, Hank and Roscoe. They all even sleep together! She is such a wonderful girl and we are delighted to have her as our family member. I will be forever grateful to Sarah for going back down to the Hurricane ravaged area to bring back even more animals! We have Emily Marie, Hannah Bananna and Little Man from in our lives because Sarah cared enough to go down there AGAIN to rescue the animals who lost everything to that terrible storm. This lady does more than most people to save animals from terrible things and gives them a chance to have a life, to know love sometimes for the first time in their little lives and all because she cares! Please support Lost Fantasy, support the rural shelters who try so hard to save these babies. First and foremost - take care of your animals and give them the love that they deserve. You are the only hope that they have and when you desert them they have nothing else to hope for, nowhere else to go and that is a shame. They only want to love and be loved. They give you everything they have. Please love them and take care of them. Don't let shelters happen to them. Keep them in your lives and your hearts. After all, you are in their heart! Thank you for letting us have Emily Maire in our lives. Our lives are better because you cared enough to give this girl a chance at a good life filled with love!
Gummy Bear
My sweet Gummy Bear. What a terrible life he had before you rescued him from that hellhole he was in. He came to us weighing about 19 pounds, very scared, hungry, confused, sick, alone and hungry!!!! I will admit that he has been the most challenging of my dogs but that is only because of the terrible life he had before you saved him. It has taken a lot of patience, more patience, faith, tears, hope, love and more patience but Gummy Bear is a delight and so full of love. He still does not like men much but I figure that a man must have been doing the beating on him. He is a special needs dog because of his teeth, stomach issues (from being starved for so long) and fear but he is an absolute joy to have! He nows weighs 30 pounds and is very happy. For once in his life he knows that someone loves him very, very much. He gets fed high quality dog food and treats. He gets exercised 3+ times a day and he gets spoiled! He is finally a Happy Boy. I now call all my dogs Ham Dappy Dogs beacuse they are all happy, heads held high and tails wagging! Thank you for taking charge of a terrible situation and rescuing this beautiful boy and for letting me bring him home and shower him with love! It is so wonderful to see him hold his head high and wag that tail of his a million miles an hour!!! In the updated picture you can see that he finally has some confidence in his stance and happiness on his face.
